Helping Children
When there is domestic violence in the family, all children are affected. They develop complex coping strategies to mask fear, confusion, guilt, anger, and sadness and often struggle to express these emotions safely, if at all.
Circle values children and makes their emotional and physical safety a priority. When in the shelter, children are able to access therapeutic play, strengthen the bond with their non-abusive parent, build nurturing relationships with Circle staff and other residents, and learn about communication, boundaries, and consent.
